New Years Eve Sunlight - Derbyshire

I find the character, shape and form of these 'twin peaks' (Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill - known locally as the 'Dragons Back') really attractive. In this painting they are illuminated by the setting sun on New Years Eve 2004 (that afternoon I'd  been out sketching the first R. Dove road bridge on what was a cold showery day). Sold in the  St John St. Gallery, Ashbourne.
