Changing Light - Dovedale

This view of the stepping stones in Dovedale was painted out on site from a fairly high vantage point. I walked to this spot via Lin Dale from Thorpe village - listening for the sounds of the River Dove as I approached. The light was ever changing as I painted - one minute in bright sunshine - the next overshadowed by cloud; exciting though demanding conditions in which to work.
