Hen Cloud from the Roaches - Staffordshire

There are some wonderful views from the dark gritstone ridges of the Roaches. The stones shown here are above Rockhall - much used by rock climbers. I enjoy sketching and photographing rock outcrops such as these and the way the sunlight picks out their colour and form -  well suited to the rich depth of tone found in oil paints.
